there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. just go here: http://bookme.com/cruises.php and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

The cheapest cruises I've seen, and I've seen these a couple of times, usually by Princess roundtrip California 14 & 15 nighters for $ 998 pp. You do have to keep in mind that when cruising from the mainland you spend most of your days at sea and not quite as many actually touring the islands. I consider a good deal on a 2 week cruise out of the mainland to be no more than $ 1200 pp anything higher is too much.

Cruises to Hawaii are not cheap. The cheapest one - in every sense of the word - would be Norwegian Cruise Line's "Pride of America". It's known, however, for poor service and not-very-good food. But it's the only line that sails to/from Hawaiian ports. Some other cruise lines have a few cruises around Hawaii that originate in Vancouver or San Diego [e.g. Holland America]. You're probably not going to find a "bargain" on a Hawaiian cruise - there aren't that many.

the best place for you is the big island. they have one active volcanoe there and tons of water sports i assume. see i came from honolulu and yes it is a crowded island....... but there is beautiful beaches and also ice skating rink, water park, beach resorts, etc.
so i hope you two have fun!

If you dont want the "big city" vaca, dont plan to stay on Oahu (Honolulu, Waikiki) This is all city, all tourists. You will see your volcanos on the Big Island, Luaus on any island (you can find them everywhere) Maui is more laid back and romantic.
